HEAL Program
The Healthcare Exploration And Learning (HEAL) Program aims to serve high school aged youth from diverse communities who are interested in a future clinical or non-clinical career in healthcare. Students participate in monthly group learning and networking with the nation’s top clinicians and health business professionals. Field trip opportunities and simulation labs are also included in this experience. Students gain college preparation, career development skills, and exposure to different institutions that serve their career interests. 100% of our seniors apply to college, and get in! Yay!!. We currently have HEAL Program alumni at UC Davis, UC Merced, CSU Bakersfield, and College of the Sequoias. Last fall we kicked off our 1st HEAL Camp where students were able to hear key note speakers, pre med panels, and have hands on activities such as ultrasounds, tourniquet, stopping the bleed wrapping, ambulance/EMT skills, suture skills, and overall develop the leadership skills they need to thrive in a healthcare related field. About 90% of the students we serve are students of color and 1st generation. We are glad we are able to create a college and career ready pathway for our students in rural Tulare County.

Family Justice Center Program
Dr. William Francis
FJC projects aim to reduce disparities in healthcare access and outcomes among different socioeconomic, racial, ethnic, or gender groups are highly valued. Our program provides low barrier to entry, exceptionally versatile access to comprehensive telehealth and in-person high quality health care.
The Family Justice Center will be hosting its annual camping trip for youth ages 8-12 years old from Alameda, Solano, and Contra Costa County to Camp Arroyo in Livermore, CA.
This annual trip is one of the many long term safety programs that focuses on violence prevention. The camp uses a three-phase process for participants: pre-camp, camp weekend and post-camp. It is important to create many opportunities for the Family Justice Center to connect volunteers and families.
Campers can enjoy a safe experience at Camp Arroyo. We provide various outdoor activities such as hiking, rock wall climbing, swimming, animal interactions, basketball, 3 meals per day, an on-site medical center, cabins and more.
Campers are able to learn leadership skills, self-care, gain an appreciation for nature, kindness and respect for others. For many campers, it will be their first time staying away from their parents and attending camp, giving them a greater sense of independence.
2023 was attended by a wonderful group of campers and volunteers, many of whom are applying to return this year.
Camp Family Justice is absolutely free (no charge for the campers / volunteers) and is an inspiring experience.
FJC is looking for the following volunteers for Camp Family Justice: communication specialist, coordinator of nutrition and wellness, night watch, logistics specialist and cabin leaders.
